We are excited to announce that a shiny new tool from Ellexus is now available on Amazon Web Services Marketplace.
Ellexus Container Checker is a pioneering cloud-based tool that provides visibility into the inner workings of Docker containers. It’s our first tool aimed directly at cloud computing users – although all our tools can be run on the cloud.
We’ve launched the tool with a free trial option – find the tool on AWS Marketplace and follow the instructions.
How does it work?
Using the Container Checker is simple; spin up the container on an AWS machine, run the Container Checker trace and receive your report when the trace is complete. It will only take as long as the application takes to run.
The following checks are included in the trace:
- I/O performance: Small reads and writes? Excess meta data operations? Discover all the flaws that are bringing your application to a standstill – and costing you in wasted cloud spend
- Dependencies and security: What files does my application need to run? Are they inside the container or outside? Make sure you have everything you need and the container doesn’t access files or network locations that it shouldn’t
- Time: Where is your application wasting time? Should you use a different cloud set-up? Find out if your container is a time waster.
We will soon be rolling out the tool on other cloud platforms including Microsoft Azure, and will soon add more types of container to its checklist.
We’d love to hear your feedback on the tool, so get in touch. If you use different cloud platforms or types of container, we’d like to hear about that too!
In the meantime, take out a free trial of Container Checker on AWS Marketplace.
